Families, Today at 11:45 am ACH, IES, and IJSH were all placed in a "Secure" setting by the Morrow County Sheriff Office. This action was taken as a precautionary measure while they were resolving a high speed pursuit near Irrigon and lasted approximately 10 minutes. As a reminder, during a "Secure" setting students and staff continue with the learning process within the confines of the building. At no time was there a danger to students or staff. We appreciate the proactive response the Morrow County Sheriff Office has in keeping our schools safe. Familias, Hoy a las 11:45 am ACH, IES, y IJSH fueron colocados en un lugar «Seguro» por la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Morrow. Esta acción fue tomada como medida de precaución mientras resolvían una persecución a alta velocidad cerca de Irrigon y duró aproximadamente 10 minutos. Morrow County School District’s Board of Directors has voted to place a General Obligation Bond for the district on the May 2025 ballot. The vote to pass the resolution for the bond was unanimous at its February 10th regular board meeting. Proposed projects are in Irrigon, Boardman and Heppner. Wednesday February 19th is school exclusion day if students are not up to date on vaccinations. MCSD will be closed February 17th in observance of Presidents' Day. Originally established in recognition of President George Washington, Presidents' Day is now viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present. Career and Technical Education Month (CTE Month) is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. This year, National School Counseling Week is celebrated from February 3-7th, the first full week in February. National School Counseling Week highlights the unique contributions of school counselors within the schools they serve. Thank a School Counselor today! Martin Luther King Day: MCSD will be closed January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr Day. MLK Day not only honors the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but it encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. It is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service.
