A.C. Houghton Elementary is having a poetry contest to celebrate World Kindness Day. Students can write an acrostic poem using the word "kindness".
In an acrostic poem, the first letter of each line spells out a word or phrase. The word or phrase can be a name, a thing - just be creative. Each line can be long or short.
All poems are due November 16th. Here is an example submitted by a 1st grade student:
Kettles of corn
In my belly
No more hunger
Day is ready
New beginnings
Endless endings
Sun is shiny
Smiles are climbing
