Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy
MCSD is committed to recognizing and honoring the diversity within our schools and communities. The Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy is an award given in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The award is available for all qualifying MCSD students. The seal is awarded to students that satisfy all of these requirements:
Meet all Oregon high school graduation requirements
Pass Essential Skills in Reading and Writing in English
Demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English:
STAMP 4S: score of 6 or higher in all areas (test will be offered multiple times throughout the school year)
Complete a panel interview in the additional language (scheduling begins in January)
Students earning the Seal of Biliteracy will be acknowledged on the graduation program; receive a certificate and seal from Oregon Department of Education; and wear a stole during graduation specific to the program.
